Earthwise Mother: Winter

The Dreaming Matriarch

Join us for this potent three-month journey through Winter, held in a sacred circle of mothers around our virtual hearth. Together sharing our wisdom and ways, while following the earth as teacher and healer and the threads of our ancestors, for healing, deep nourishment, guidance and remembrance.

Part Guided Course and Circle, together we will explore the archetypes, energies and plant medicines being invoked in this season, weave in fun and healing herbal recipes for the family, invite thoughtful reflections, somatics and festive rituals, and nature-based whimsical crafts, that help us to ground and reconnect with the earth and her cycles, and in doing so, mother ourselves as we mother our children.

Circle runs from December 1st-February 28th
Registration open now!

“It’s animist, heartfelt, and rooted in the rhythms of the land and cycles of matrescence to nourish and inspire your journey as mother, your family, and your lineage.”

“Here we connect with the Matriarch, not as a fading crone, but as the powerful rooted elder, who can touch the stars and the great mystery unafraid and unapologetically, she who stands strong in who she is, and sits on her throne as the center of her family, village, and greater community.

Can you sense her in your bones, the one who stands tall and rooted, wisdom in every fold of textured skin? She is the voice of the wise women before you, and that of your own knowing, braided together. I invite you now to listen, trust, and dream with her.

As winter wraps the land in quiet and the trees stand bare, the Matriarch takes her place by the hearth. She is the keeper of deep time, the weaver of stories, the one who remembers. In this season, we turn inward towards the silence that holds the seeds of the year to come, towards the dreaming that shapes our future, and the wisdom carried within our bones.”

About your guides

Colleen Baxter Gerson.

Mother, Herbalist, Board Certified Functional Medicine Health Coach, Founder and Guide for Earthwise Mother Seasonal Circles.

I’ve spent almost two decades weaving a tapestry of Functional Medicine, Herbalism, and Ecosomatics to support clients in tending the deeper roots of dis-ease, healing and grounding in today’s world. As I journeyed into pregnancy and motherhood, in those beautiful, messy, and transformative years, I allowed my medicine to steep and deepen.

Earthwise Mother weaves the threads of my work and wisdom, with earth based mothering, ancestral ways, ritual, crafting, recipes and resources. My prayers is that it is a great re-membering of rooted, nourished, and intuitive wise mothers for ourselves, our families and our communities. I am deeply honored to hold these potent and truly beautiful seasonal journeys together around the hearth with you and fellow wise mothers.

My husband and I live in Northern California with our daughter Willow, and you’ll often find us in the garden, mountains, or backpacking. We host a waldorf-forest learning pod on our land with a wonderful teacher. I’m forever deepening my knowledge and connection with plant kin, my Celtic ancestral roots and ways, homesteading, earth tending and honoring, and the slow crafts with wool felt, yarn, and clay.

Melina Seeto

Mother, Mystic, Somatic Experiencing Practitioner, Nervous System & Embodiment Group Facilitator, Entheogenic Guide.

I have spent over 15 years on the path of mysticism and healing through the body. My work encompasses earth based ritual, somatic practices and mysticism to support trauma resolution, nervous system repair, and the embodiment of the glorious imperfect experience of being human.

The ways I hold space have supported thousands of women to find deeper meaning through weaving the embodied experience of life through ceremony, myth, honoring Earth, our ancestors, and for many, the sacred rite of passage of becoming Mother.

I live with my husband and sweet toddler, and in my spare time I love using my hands to craft and cook honoring my PNG Chinese and Norwegian heritage.

✺ Frequently asked questions ✺

  • All live gatherings are recorded, and you’ll still have access to the practices, rituals, and teachings. Many mothers find deep connection simply through the materials and sharing space online.

  • This course is designed to feel like nourishment, not another task. The practices are gentle, grounding, and can be woven into your daily life. Think of it as creating space to be held, supported, and inspired, rather than something you “have to do.”

  • This is more than a course, it’s a village. It blends functional nourishment, folk herbalism, ancestral traditions, and seasonal rhythms, all within the sacred container of mothers circling together. It’s about remembering and re-weaving what was once part of daily life.

  • The Winter Course blends self-paced content with live circle gatherings. You’ll receive guided practices, herbal recipes, and seasonal teachings, along with opportunities for reflection, journaling, and sharing in community.

  • About 1–2 hours per week is plenty to engage with the materials and practices. All circles are recorded, and you can move at the pace that fits your busy mom life.

  • Just yourself, some wifi and your computer to download material and join calls as desired. A journal would be great, a few basic kitchen and herbal supplies (we’ll guide you on what to gather), a cup of tea, and an open heart. Everything else is optional, and you can adapt practices with what you have at home.
